Fat stomach
Most old timers who ate from home were not fat. They had to homestead. This meant never sitting down for a break and chomping on chips and ice cream. They ate pretty much the same stuff within season, and anything that would last in the root cellar like carrots, beets, potatoes, daikon radish, parsnips, and other such foods that came from their garden. All this work would burn stomach fat so there were essentially no fat folks back then. It is ironic my story about when I got fat was when I was really homesteading. I still have to lose the weight.
